Getting the Knotgrass plant is not a tough chore, as one of the easiest methods to get it is to buy the seeds. Once you have unlocked Hogsmeade, you can head over to The Magic Neep. This is a store that will sell you all sorts of plant seeds and other potion-making materials. You can check your map for the exact location of the store, but you can find it once you complete the Hogsmeade tutorial. Speak to the shopkeeper, Timothy Teasdale, to purchase the Knotgrass seeds for 350 coins.
After that, head over to the Potting Station in the Room of Requirements to plant it, or you can use the Herbology Greenhouse too. It will take a while for the sprigs to sprout, but once they do, you can collect them. You will also need two other ingredients, Leaping Toadstool Caps, and Troll Bogeys, to craft the potion.
