Duncan will ask you to retrieve the Venomous Tentacula leaf from the Herbology corridor to prove to his friends that he is brave enough to face the dangers inside. Since he is afraid of almost everything in and around Hogwarts, he needs your help. The quest is pretty simple, as you have to use your knowledge of spells to make your way through the Herbology corridor and get the leaf. Once you go back to complete the quest, you have the option to give Duncan the leaf or not.
If you do choose to give the leave to him, he will thank you and tell you that he will no longer be bullied by his peers for being so afraid, and probably they will leave him alone. This will give you a positive outcome, and he might help you back sometime later in the game.
If you choose the opposite, then Duncan will get baffled and upset by your answer. You have a second chance to make it right and hand the leaf to him, which will result in the above outcome. If you still choose not to give it to him, Duncan will be visibly upset. He will tell you that he will be bullied even further because of your actions and that he shouldn’t have trusted you. He will have a negative outlook toward you, but will not have any further consequences in the game. Whichever you choose, you can complete the quest and move on to the next quest.
