There is versatile equipment in Halo Infinite that players can use to help them in combat or while exploring Zeta Halo. Players will start with owning just the Grapple Shot, but as they keep progressing with the main storyline, more equipment will be unlocked.
While in battle, you will need to swap between equipment quickly, which will determine your chances of survival too. This guide will take you through the rundown on how you can efficiently change equipment.
How to Change Equipment in Halo Infinite
You will have to remap the controller settings in the menu. For console, press the right button on the D-pad and choose the slots in which you would like to equip. For PC, you can press 1, 2, 3, or 4. Press right again on the D-pad to use the Grapple Shot. If you press down, you can change it to the Threat Sensor, left for Drop Wall, and up for Thruster. These are the default equipment, but you can assign any other that you wish in controller settings.
You should keep in mind that each ability takes time to recharge, but if you got the timing right you can use all four consecutively. You can reduce the recharge time for each item by upgrading it with Spartan Cores.
What Each Ability Means in Halo Infinite
The Grapple Shot
Can be used for traveling as well as in battle. Every upgrade will lower the recharge time, add an electric shock while using it to grapple an enemy, and also produce a shockwave blast that can be achieved by using a melee and grappling together.
The Threat Sensor
Enemies will be highlighted even through obstacles. You will also be able to see cloaked enemies like the Chak’ Lok. Each upgrade will increase the radius of detection, reduce cool time, will add a second charge and uninterrupted enemy visibility and health.
The Drop Wall
Using this ability will deploy a shield that you can use to shoot through and protect yourself. Each upgrade will reduce the cooldown time, add shock waves, and also increase its strength and size.
The Thruster
This is used to move Master Chief quickly towards the pointed direction. You can use this to make a quick escape as it is faster than a Grapple Shot. Upgrading it will add reduce the cooldown time, add a second charge, adds short time concealment, and increase the distance and speed.
Learning how to quickly change through them will take a bit of practice, but with due time you will get the hang of it and will be able to use it to your advantage.
