There is a surprising sense of adventure when playing Grounded. Tiny things become gigantic, and everyday life becomes something else entirely—a fight for survival. When you start off, though, you’re already at a disadvantage; there’s an urgency as you look around desperately for anything you might use to help yourself. Some supplies can only be found high up in the trees or bushes – after all, this game would never let its protagonist just have it easy.
Clay is among the many materials that can be found in Grounded. Easily available, but you’ll need to prepare for harvesting it. Let’s find out in this guide.

Where to Find Clay?
Clay can be easily found near the Mysterious Machine in Grounded. Clay is usually an underwater resource, but it can be found in small puddles left over from recent rainfall. To the west of the Mysterious Machine is a pool of water.
Hold your breath and dive into it with an acorn shovel in hand, and you’ll find a collectible node of clay that will do well for your spinning wheel or any other item. Make sure you carry a shovel to harvest the clay. Just hope this one yields enough for whatever needs to be created.
If not here, you may have to travel to the Swampy Wetlands southeast of the Mysteriously Mystifying Machine. Dive beneath the water line and search for earthy brown or orange-colored clay deposits near the ground.
Remember to be careful on your way here – between this place, and my land lies many Orbweaver Spiders, Spiderlings, and Weavers (Orb). There will also likely be a lot of larvae waiting in the ambush in this place – make sure you bring bandages, a sturdy weapon, and an escape plan, just in case.
So, this was all about harvesting the clay in Grounded. Be sure to read our other guides, so you have all the information you need to play the game.
