Graphics card pricing has finally started to fall, and it seems like AMD is benefitting the most. A lot of Radeon RX 6000 series cards like the RX 6600 and the RX 6700 XT are already available for competitive prices. This makes choosing Nvidia over AMD irrelevant, at least for the time being. The new blow to this trend, however, comes from Newegg with its RX 6900 XT listing. The card was spotted at lower than MSRP prices, thereby increasing its price-to-performance ratio to a whole new level.
What is So Special with Newegg’s RX 6900 XT Listing?
The RX 6900 XT is AMD’s best creation in this generation. Priced at $999, this card is a direct competitor to Nvidia’s RTX 3090. Although Nvidia has kept the performance crown, at $1499, the card is not value for the money it asks for. AMD has pushed the RX 6900 XT to a whole new level with driver and software updates, thereby making choosing one for your system an even better choice.
The RX 6900 XT is based on the company’s RDNA2 architecture. It comes with 16GB of GDDR6 memory compared to the 24GB of GDDR6X we see on the RTX 3090. The card, however, has a significant clock speed benefit, like every other RDNA2 offering. The game clock can get up to 2,015 MHz and the boost clock maximizes at 2,285 MHz. The card also recently popped up on the Steam Hardware Survey results for April 2022 with an 0.15% market share.
Newegg is currently giving an instant $50 rebate on the Gigabyte Gaming OC variant of this card. Add to this, you can also get another $50 rebate on this model, which brings the price down to $899.
Apart from the Gigabyte RX 6900 XT Gaming OC, rebates are applicable on other graphics hardware from both Nvidia and AMD as well. These include the Gigabyte RX 6900XT Aorus variant, which has a massive $200 rebate coupon.
Gutting a flagship RX 6900 XT for $100 less than its MSRP during an ongoing chip shortage is nothing short of amazing.
