You will need to defeat V Blood bosses if you wish to unlock rare gear, equipment, and items. Frostmaw is a level 56 V Boss, so you need to be prepared before you can track him down using the Blood Altar. Frostmaw is located in Hallowed Mountains, and you can get here quicker using your Horse. Once you go down the snowy corridors, you will come face to face with Frostmaw the Mountain Terror. He will mostly deal with Ice Damage, so you should come prepared with a good armor set and a strong weapon. Since he is a level 56 boss, you will have to level up your gear score to take him on.
Once he is defeated, you can unlock the recipe to make scrolls and get the Frost Nova ability.
