It’s been a few days since the launch of Warzone Pacific Caldera, but the emergence of new issues and errors in the game haven’t stopped. The infamous fatal error in Warzone has returned in the last few hours, notably after the update today. While the update has reduced the bloom, it seems to have caused many series issues for players. When you get the fatal error, the message asks you to perform a Scan and Repair, but the generic fix for a bunch of error codes does not work for most players. In most cases, these widespread fatal errors are unfixable at our end and a new update addresses it, but some users were able to fix the Warzone Pacific fatal error. Here are the solutions that are known to work.
Warzone Pacific Fatal Error Fix
While the Warzone fatal error is troubling PC players, users on the console have their own issue with the texture glitch and Goldflake error. Here are the things you can do if you have run into the fatal error besides running a Scan and Repair in Warzone.
- Reopen the game
- While this fix is unlikely to fix the problem for a majority of players, it worked for some users so I have listed it. Close the game completely, reboot the system, and launch again.
- Delete Data Files with Size 1KB
- This fix works mostly when you are stuck in the scan and repair loop and the game won’t update, but it should work in this case as well (if you have data files with size 1 KB). Browse to the game folder. Here is the path you can follow. Click on the Gear icon next to Update or Play > select Show in Explorer > open Call of Duty Modern Warfare folder > open Data folder > open second ‘data’ folder > delete all the data files that are 1KB size.
- Once you have done the above, scan and repair or update the game and it should work without the fatal error.
- Perform a Fresh Install
- The most effective fix at the time of writing and from previous cases of the warzone fatal error is to completely uninstall the reinstall the game. A fresh install of the game has worked for a lot of users to fix the fatal error in Warzone after update.
- If you are overclocking the system that could also be the cause of the error. Some users had to undervolt the RAM frequency to fix the error.
- Another reason the game may be crashing with the fatal error is if the XMP/DOCP is not enabled. You can enable it from the BIOS and Memory Settings. A more detailed guide can be found on the manufacture’s website.
At the time of writing, there are the best solutions you can try. Fatal errors also go away after a new update. Hopefully, there are enough people with the error to catch the attention of Raven and they release a patch soon.
