Warzone is one of the most played games worldwide. As with any popular game, cheating was rampant and players have been demanding a deterring anti-cheat from Activision. Finally, all the begging from players has resulted in a new product from Activision – Ricochet. While the effectiveness of the anti-cheat is yet to be seen as players complain of cheating still persisting in the game. On the flip-side, the anti-cheat is creating problems for users as Warzone freezes at the Ricochet anti-cheat screen. Most of the affected users are on the Xbox console, which adds to the list of problems players are facing on the device with Warzone.
But, that’s not to say players on PS5, PS4, or PC don’t face the Warzone freezing at Ricochet anti-cheat screen. Here is what you can do if you find yourself stuck at the anti-cheat screen.
Warzone Stuck at Ricochet Anticheat Screen Fix
While Warzone getting stuck at the anti-cheat screen is a major problem, the game also has issues with freezing and crashing mid-game that’s troubling a majority of Xbox users. A fix for the in-game freeze is to not press the Xbox home button. Pressing the Home button for some reason causes the game to freeze.
Wait a Bit Longer for the Game to Load
A fix for the game stuck at the Ricochet anti-cheat screen is to do nothing and be patient. Sometimes it takes a bit longer for the game to load past the anti-cheat screen, which is frustrating but if you wait long enough the game should load. Some players had to wait as long as 5 minutes before the game loaded.
Delete the Saved Date
If the above solutions did not work, a few users on Reddit have reported that clearing the game’s save data on the Xbox fixed the problem for them. If there is a problem with the game’s cache, you could have the problem where the game does not lead past the loading screen. Here is how to clear the save date on Xbox Series X.
- Open the Guide by pressing the Xbox Button
- Go to Profile & system > Settings > System > Storage
- Select Manage storage and choose View contents
- Select Warzone and click the Menu Button, now select Manage game
- Select Saved data and choose Warzone/Modern Warfare
- Use the Options Menu to delete the saved data.
Make a New Xbox Profile
If you are having a mix of problems with Warzone from freezing to crashing when selecting certain game modes, you may try to make a new Xbox Profile and use that to play the game. Some users have tested this fix and it works to resolve a bunch of issues with the game.
