Fix Vanguard Patching Issue in Valorant

Lately, many Valorant gamers are going through Vanguard patching issues when attempting to install or update the game’s anti-cheat software – Vanguard. 1. Run the CMD as Administrator 

The very first solution suggested by one player on Reddit is to run the game as administrator. To do this: Press the Windows key and type CMD to open up Command Prompt. Then right-click on the Command Prompt and select “Run as administrator”. 

Now, type the following commands and press enter. 

– sc delete vgc 

– sc delete vgk

2. Repair Game Files

Some missing or corrupted game files can also be the reason behind this issue and so try verifying the integrity of game files. To do that: 

On Steam: Go to Steam Library >> Right-click on the game >> Properties >> Local Files >> Verify the integrity of game files.

On Epic Games Launcher: Go to Epic Games Launcher >> Library >> Click on three dots of Valorant >> Verify >> Wait for the process to complete

3. Update Windows and GPU Drivers

Make sure your operating system Windows, as well as GPU drivers, are updated to the latest version. Check for any pending updates and install them.

4. Check Your Internet Connection

This error can also occur due to a poor and unstable internet connection so make sure your internet connection is fast and stable. You can also try resetting your router/modem or try switching the connection from WiFi to Wired.

5. Force Stop ‘Vanguard user-mode service’ Process

You can also try force-stopping the ‘Vanguard user-mode service’ process to solve the issue. To do this: Open up the Task Manager app >> Process >> Find and right-click on Vanguard user-mode service >> Select ‘End Task’ to stop the process forcefully. 

Once done, relaunch Valorant and the issue should be fixed now.

6. Remove Third-Party Programs

Sometimes, third-party programs can interfere with Vanguard and cause patching issues so try disabling these programs temporarily or uninstalling them if you are not using such as Discord Overlay or GeForce Experience, and check if this trick worked.

7. Reinstall Vanguard or Game

If the issue persists, your next and last resort is to uninstall Vanguard and game both and then reinstall them.
