Valorant is in full swing and although we do not have the number of players on-board the beta, one can guess it’s huge from the record-breaking viewership of the game on Twitch. While it’s likely most of the views are an attempt of players to gain access to the beta, which is a norm set by Riot. The fact remains, Valorant is an exceptionally refreshing game from the traditional multiplayer. However, the launch has had its fair share of hiccups and recent error users are encountering is the Valorant “process already running” error.
What Causes the Valorant “process already running” Error?
From what we understand, the error arises when you have more than one Riot games installed on the system such as League of Legends or League of Legends of Runeterra with Valorant. The error occurs when the users try to install the game and is caused due to the combination of clients from Riot Games. For some reasons, there is conflict when you have multiple games of Riot, probably as multiple games are saved in the same folder during installation.
How to Fix the Error?
Fixing the error is pretty easy and straightforward. Head over to the install folder of the game, usually c:/Riot Games/Riot Client/vcruntime140.dll and delete the file vcruntime140.dll. This should have fixed the process already running error. However, if it doesn’t, try the next solutions.
Some users were able to download and install the game when they changed the browser, so try installing the game from a few different browsers. This should have fixed your error, but if it didn’t let us know. You can also share if you have a more effective solution.
