There is no denying the fact that Valorant has joined the big league of online shooter multiplier games with the likes of Destiny 2, Modern Warfare, Warzone, and the latest entrant Crucible. But, like all the other games, it’s also had its fair share of bugs and errors from the beta to the current release. The latest that’s plaguing players is the Valorant CreateProcess Returned 5 error. However, the fix is pretty simple. Uninstall and reinstall Vanguard.

Vanguard is the anti-cheat software of Valorant that prevents players from gaining unlawful advantage over other players. Here are the steps to fix the issue.

How to Fix CreateProcess Returned 5 Error in Valorant

Fortunately, this particular error in Valorant is not as complicated as some others and quite fixable. All you need to do is reinstall Vanguard. Here are the steps you can follow.

  1. Press Windows Key + I and click on Apps
  2. From the list of programs, locate Vanguard and click on it
  3. Select Uninstall and follow the on-screen prompt to uninstall the software
  4. Launch Valorant and it will automatically download Vanguard

The error should have resolved. If you still encounter the error, uninstall both Valorant and Vanguard. Perform a system reboot and reinstall the game again. If the issue still persists, you can raise a ticket with Valorant. They are quite prompt and you will get a response in a few days with instructions on how to fix the error.
