Fix Valheim Load Error and Corrupted Save

It’s an undeniable fact that Valheim is a great game and hence the record breaking success of the game on Steam. However, you cannot deny the fact that the game has a lot of issues from crashing, FPS drop, to corruption of game save file. The developers have acknowledged the issue, but have no solution to share at the moment. Fix Valheim Load Error & Corrupted Save

Although this can potentially resolve the Valheim load error due to corrupted save, this is not a universal solution and may not work for all users. With some luck, this may be the fix for your problem. The cause of the corruption of save can occur when you have abruptly closed the game using Alt + F4 key or simply shut down the system.

So, the preventive step for the error is to close the game property by exiting from the game and then closing the steam client. Here goes the solution to fix the errors.

To perform the fix, close the game and the steam client and follow the below steps.

1. Go to C:\Users\YourPCorUserName\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valhiem\ (Press Windows Key + I and type %appdata% and hit Enter. Click on the AppData in the Windows navigation and go to LocalLow > IronGate > Valheim)
2. Open the World folder (make a backup in case something goes wrong. Make a copy of the folder and keep it somewhere)
3. Delete the files named “WorldName” and “WorldName.fwl”
4. Rename the file “WorldName.db.old” to “WorldName”
5. Then rename “WorldName.fwl.old” file to “WorldName.fwl”
