Unlike several other error codes in the game, the Star Wars Battlefront 2 stuck on loading screen for PC players are caused due to a configuration issue on the client end. The game is moderate on system configuration, still some users may be on the by-line and facing the loading issue with the game. Most old players would have already worked through the issue, but the new players joining through the free game program of Epic Games Store may be wondering if they can fix the issue. Fortunately, there are a few proven fix to resolve the Star Wars Battlefront 2 infinite loading screen.
Fix Star Wars Battlefront 2 Stuck on Loading Screen
We have known it for a while now that Star Wars Battlefront 2 does not run so great on DirectX 12 on moderate gaming rigs. Hence, to improve the performance of the game, you must first disable the DirectX 12 and attempt to play the game on DX11. There is not much you will have to sacrifice and the DirectX 11 is relatively more stable and great for consistent performance.
You need to change the game’s boot options from the ‘BootOptions’ text file, but you also need to disable the DX12 from Graphics Settings or the game would auto change the value. Besides the DX12, there are some other settings you can change to boost the performance of the game and eliminate the Star Wars Battlefront 2 stuck on loading screen problem.
In order to make the changes, go to C:\users\your computer’s name\Documents. Locate and open STAR WARS Battlefront II. Now, open the Settings folder and open the BootOptions file using Notepad. Change “GstRender.EnableDx12 1” to “GstRender.EnableDx12 0”. This option will disable the DirectX 12. Besides that, the other changes you need to make are:
GstRender.FullscreenEnabled 0
GstRender.FullscreenRefreshRate 60.000000
GstRender.FullscreenScreen 0
GstRender.ResolutionHeight 1080
GstRender.ResolutionWidth 1920
GstRender.WindowBordersEnable 1
Save the file. Now, launch the game and go to the Graphics Settings and disable DX12. You should now be able to play and the game should get past the loading screen. But, if the issue persists, you may want to delete some temp files of the game that could be causing the issue. Deleting these file will not impact the save game data.
To delete the files, press Windows Key + S and type Star Wars Battlefront II. Go to the folder and delete the files nnamed Settings, CrashDump, and RimeTemp. After deleting the files, launch the game and the Star Wars Battlefront 2 infinite loading screen or stuck on loading screen issue should be resolved.
There’s no settings folder, actually the only thing I found in the battlefront 2 folder was the temp folders he suggested deleting. No settings folders though at all.
Open boot options with notepad right click on boot options to open with notepad in Documents Star wars Battlefront II settings boot options to edit as above
Only 2 problems with this fix:
(1) There is Settings folder
(2) There is no bootoptions.txt file anywhere in any folder.
You will find Setting folder PC
this pc documents/starwars battlefront II/settings/boot options windows 10 or C:/documents/starwars battlefront II/settings/boot options
Thanks Dennis.
