For a competitive game such as Rainbow Six Siege, even a fraction of a second when the game freezes can be detrimental. After the latest patch about a few days back, a lot of players have been reporting Rainbow Six Siege freezing. The game freezes for a few seconds with no apparent cause-and-effect. The game freezes randomly for a few seconds and then returns to normal. It happens multiple times during an hour’s session, making continuing the game impossible. For some players, the ping also rises when freezing occurs. Keep reading to find out what you can do.
Rainbow Six Siege Freezing and Unfreezing After Update
From the reports that users have been raising, it does not seem like an issue on the user’s end. But, just to be safe, ensure that the cause is not bad internet connection or lag. A bad internet connection is one of the most common causes for the game freezing and returning to normal. Try playing the game via an Ethernet cable as Wi-Fi can be volatile and drop speed for just a fraction of a second to cause the Rainbow Six Siege to freeze and stutter.
If the issue has been affecting you a lot and the game is unplayable, restarting the game has helped a few users so you can try that.
You can also try removing the temp files of the game, updating the drivers, or verifying the game files, but it seems none of these fixes the problem with the game. From all the reports we have seen, the issue seems to be caused due to the servers and the latest patch.
Ubisoft is yet to acknowledge the issue. We will update this post when we learn more about the issue or if there is an acknowledgment from the devs.
