Fix Modern Warfare 2 Exebad_challenge Error

Modern Warfare 2 features multiplayer battles, advanced gameplay, and graphics improvements that have taken the campaign to the next level. Although the game has several beta tests before the game was released, there are still many frustrating bugs and errors preventing players from enjoying the game such as the Goldflake error or game_ship.exe error, among others. Lately, many players are running into an “EXE/BAD_CHALLENGE” error. When this error appears, it loads for a few minutes and then, it sends players back to the menu. If the same thing is happening to you, then check this guide and learn how you can fix it with some simple workarounds.

How to Fix Modern Warfare 2 Exe/bad_challenge Error

It has been noticed that the “EXE/BAD_CHALLENGE” error appears mostly on consoles. Luckily, there are a few workarounds you can try to fix this error.

That’s all for this guide. At the time of writing this post, the dev has not yet acknowledged this matter. Meanwhile, you can try these workarounds to get rid of the error.

1. Check for Updates: First of all, it is very important to check for the latest updates. To run massive games like MW 2 smoothly, it should be updated to the latest version. So, if your game is not updated, do it first and then try to run the game again and check if the error still persists.

2. Don’t Wait in the Lobby: To bypass the “EXE/BAD_CHALLENGE” error, first, you need to join a lobby and then create a class menu. The trick here is to not wait with the other players in the lobby. This is one of the best methods to eliminate the error. If that doesn’t work, try the next.

3. Reboot the Device: The next method is to restart your gaming device (Xbox, PlayStation, or PC). For the console users, try to unplug it and wait for about 2 to 3 minutes, and then turn the console on again.

4. Deleting “players″ Folder: You can find the player2 folder in Documents > Call of Duty > players. Delete this folder. Deleting this may erase your campaign progress as well as the multiplayer settings, so make sure to back it up. If you played the beta, there may be playersBeta. You need to delete the players folder; however, deleting both won’t cause any issues either.

5. Reinstall the Game: If nothing works, the last resort is to uninstall the game completely and then reinstall it.

Hopefully, Infinity Ward will address the “EXE/BAD_CHALLENGE” error as a lot of players are facing the same issue while enjoying Modern Warfare 2.
