Fix Modern Warfare 2 DEV Error 356

How to Unlock Frontal Impact Blueprint in Modern Warfare 2

Error codes and glitches are really a nuisance in all online video games. They cause annoying crashes and kill the real fun of playing the game. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has just been released and thousands of players have jumped onto the game so many error codes have cropped up such as 0x00001338 (0) N, HUENEME, and many others.

In addition to these bugs and errors, many players are now running into Dev error 356 while playing Modern Warfare 2. This is not a new bug as it appeared in the previous CoD games as well. If you are also running into the same error code and can’t enjoy the game to the fullest, check out this guide and learn what you can do to resolve this error.

How to Fix Modern Warfare 2 DEV Error 356

Although Dev error 356 in Modern Warfare 2 is not harmless still, it is annoying and kills your overall gaming experience. One of the main reasons why this error occurs is due to miscommunication with the game’s servers.

Well, it is important to note here that you can’t really fix this error on your end because this error code is related to the dev side. However, there are a few things you can try to eliminate this error.

1. One of the best methods you could first try is to verify the integrity of game files. For this:

– Go to Steam Library

– Right-click on Modern Warfare 2 and click on Properties

– Then select Local Files

– Next click on ‘Verify the Integrity of game files’

– Once done, launch the game again and the Dev error 356 should be gone

2. Change the in-game language to any other language pack and then return back to English and then relaunch the game. If the issue lies in the language files, it should fix the dev error 356 in MW2.

3. One of the players has suggested a solution on Reddit. He resolved this error simply by turning off any in-game overlay software such as shadow play, discord, and/or razer synapse. Close all of these overlays and relaunch the game again and you are good to go.

If the above solutions don’t work, then reach out to Activision Support for further assistance or wait until the developers release a patch fixing this issue.

Unfortunately, Activision has not yet acknowledged this issue but hopefully, they will address this bug and resolve it as early as possible. Meanwhile, you can try the above-given workarounds to eliminate dev error 356 in Modern Warfare 2.
