How to Fix Microsoft Store Error 0x80131505

Error 0x80131505 in Microsoft Store is common and that occurs to many users now and then. But don’t panic and follow the below suggestions to fix Microsoft Store error 0x80131505.

1. Run the Windows App Troubleshooter

Windows App Troubleshooter is an in-built automated tool that can address many issues that occur in Windows App. So, when you receive error code 0x80131505, try running the Windows app troubleshooter. To do this:

– Go to Settings >> Troubleshoot >> Other troubleshooters >> Select Run for Windows Store Apps.

– Once the troubleshooting process is done, try using Microsoft Store.

2. Setting Windows Services to Automatic

Some users have managed to resolve this issue by setting Windows services to automatic. To do this:

– Open up the Run dialogue box by pressing Win + R keys

– Type services.msc and then press Enter

– Find ‘Background Intelligence Transfer’ from the list

– Double-click on it and make sure to set ‘Startup type’ as ‘Automatic’

– Do the same thing for the ‘Windows Update’ service as well

3. Resetting the Microsoft Store

This method will help to restore the app to a default configuration. To do this:

1. First of all, open Apps and Feature by pressing Win + R keys and writing ms-settings:appsfeatures and then press Ok.

2. Next, press the three-dots menu button for the Microsoft Store app.

3. Click on “Advanced” options and view the troubleshooting buttons for MS Store.

4. Now, select Reset to clear out data for MS Store.

5. Lastly, restart your PC and the issue should be resolved.

4. Disable the Antivirus Program Temporarily

Sometimes, your antivirus program can also cause multiple issues and prevent the app from running properly. So, try disabling your antivirus program temporarily while accessing Microsoft Store.

5. Reinstalling Microsoft Store with PowerShell

If nothing worked, your last resort is to reinstall Microsoft Store using PowerShell. For this, you need to run multiple PowerShell commands to reinstall that app as follows:

– Open PowerShell (as administrator) in Windows Terminal as covered within steps one and two of the sixth resolution here.

– To uninstall Microsoft Store, input this PowerShell command press Return:

Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* | Remove-AppxPackage

– Although not an essential step, it’s recommended to restart your PC after uninstalling Microsoft Store.

– Bring up PowerShell again.

– Now reinstall Microsoft Store by entering this text and pressing your Enter button:

Get-AppxPackage -allusers WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
