How to Fix Hogwarts Legacy Madam Kogawa’s assignment 2 bug
Fortunately, there are some workarounds that players have discovered to get Madam Kogawa unstuck and back to her office.
Found Madam Kogawa near Fountain
One of the methods involves finding Madam Kogawa talking to a student nearby at the fountain. She will always be here day and night. Once you see her, you have to run up to her while spamming the “initiate dialogue” button for your console. This may take a few tries to get it to register. Ensure you are running as it will not work while walking.
Save and reload from fountain
If successful, you will then be teleported into her office where you will talk to her through a wall about her backstory (the cutscene is glitched). Once you finish talking, it will clip you into a wall in her office but she is still missing. To fix this, run back to the fountain and double-check to see if she and the student have disappeared. If they have, save and reload the game. She should now be back in her office where you can complete the assignment and learn the spell.
Fly around
Some players have also reported flying around and into her at the fountain on their brooms. Eventually, she will get unstuck and head back to her office where you can continue the quest. These methods may not work for everyone, but they have been successful for some players.
Wait for a patch
It is worth noting that the developers are aware of the issue and are working on a fix for it. They have not yet released a timeline for the fix, but it is expected to be included in a future patch. In the meantime, players will need to rely on these workarounds to get past the bug.
