Fix Harry Potter Wizards Unite Steps Not Counting Bug or Adventure Sync Not Working

With all online games, there is always something the users have to put up with and Harry Potter Wizards Unite is no different. There are severe problems with the game that seems to emerge every now and then, but for a lot of players, there is a more pressing issue with Harry Potter Wizards Unite Adventure Sync not working. Players have the GPS on and have gone through all the troubleshooting, but the game fails to count the steps. Needless to say, it prevents them from completing important game objectives. If you are facing a similar situation, here is what you can do.

How to Fix Harry Potter Wizards Unite Adventure Sync Not Working

With the Adventure Sync not working, players are unable to collect Portkeys as it requires you to walk your character. There are all kinds of issues with the game’s Adventure Sync and the steps not counting. For some players, the sync comes on and off, while others can’t even press the option. But, for the majority, the problem is that the sync just does not work and counts the steps.

Fix Harry Potter Wizard Unite Adventure Sync Not Working

For players whose Android version is 9 or under, there is a known bug with the game that affects the Adventure Sync. The developers are working on a solution, but if you can upgrade the Android version to above 9, the issue should be resolved.

Having the game run in the background could also affect the sync. To get the game to count your steps, close the game appropriately i.e. use the exit button in the menu. If the game is running in the background and you open it again, the steps won’t sync or count. Also, before you start the game, run Google Fit and ensure that the steps are counting.

Even after the above steps, there is a chance that the Adventure Sync may not work for Android 10 and 11 devices as well. It’s due to an ongoing issue with the game that the devs are working on.

There is a new update available for the game update 2.18.1, ensure that you have the update the Portkeys should work. At the time of writing, this is the best information that we have, but we will update the post when a fix for the Adventure Sync arrives.
