It’s been a month since the launch of Half-Life Alyx and overall the game has been fun and entertaining. Bugs and errors in the game have been minimal with some users reporting crashing and audio bugs. Most in-game bugs were fixed in subsequent patches. A recent error that has popped up is the Half-Life Alyx interface not found error code 105.
The error occurs when trying to initialize overlay, but can occur in-game as well. The user get the error message – “VRInitError_Init_InterfaceNotFound: interface Not Found (105).” If you have encountered this error, the fix is pretty simple.
As we browsed through forums, it was highlighted by users the error occurs when there is some problem with the Steam client. Either it’s outdated or some other problem with the client. Updating and restarting have fixed the issue for most users. Here are the two fixes we suggest.
Fix 1: Restart the System
A simple restart of the system should fix the problem. Close the Steam client and restart the system. Launch the Steam client and the game. See if the error code 105 is fixed. If not try installing the latest patch for Steam VR.
Fix 2: Update Steam VR
Updating the Steam VR client is easy. Simply click on the three lines, then click on Devices and select Update Device. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation of the latest patch. Once done, launch the game and check if the Half-Life Alyx Interface Not Found Error Code 105 is fixed.
That’s it for now. Let us know in the comments if you have a more effective solution.
