What is the CS:GO Trusted Mode?
The CS:GO Trusted Mode is an update to tackle hackers in the game. After the update, the game launches in Trusted Mode by default. What this mode does is it blocks all third-party software from interacting with the game. Only applications that have all their DLLs digitally signed by CS:GO can interact and work in parallel with the game. If you still want to use third-party program, you need to launch the game in the –insecure launch option; however, your options will be limited and it will negatively affect your trust score. How to Fix FPS Drop in CS:GO After Trusted Mode Update?
There are a range of things you can try to improve the performance and the FPS, we will discuss all of them.
Fix 1: Disable the CS:GO Trusted Mode
Although the first tip, its best you try this after all other attempts at FPS improvement fails. This step involves disabling the new update. You can do it easily via the Steam client. Here are the steps:
- Launch Steam > Library
- Right-click on the game and select Properties
- Click on Set Launch Options and type –untrusted
- Press Ok and relaunch the game.
This will effectively disable thee Trusted mode and the game will be playable without any issue.
Fix 2: Lower Mouse Pointing Rate
While this fix has worked for a lot of users, it’s not a guaranteed fix. Nevertheless, it’s worth a shot and due to the ease, it’s the first fix you must try to solve the FPS problem with SC:GO after the Trusted Mode update. The ideal mouse pointing rate should be between 150 to 500hz. But, once you change the mouse pointing rate, you will have to get used to the new settings and at the start, your aim may be completely off target. With this fix, you have to make a choice if you want more performance or would like to use the current aim settings.
