Here are the steps you can follow.

1. Press Windows + R and type appwiz.cpl, hit Enter
2. Locate Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable. Right-click on it and select Uninstall
3. Reboot the system and try to play the game. If it still crashes proceed to install Visual C++
4. Download and install both the x86 and x64 versions
5. Restart the system.
