A nasty bug is affecting FIFA 22 players when the player attempts to save the game. The bug seems to mostly affect users on the Xbox Series X and PC, but can also occur for players on other devices. The Career mode in FIFA 22 is not the most popular mode, but there are still a large number of players who occasionally like to play the game and this bug is making it impossible to continue. The error message users get when they attempt to save is the FIFA 22 ‘Personal Settings 1 Failed to Load.’
While the bug does not stop the player from continuing the game it can make all the effort futile as the progress may not be saved. The issue was first brought to light over two weeks back but has gone unacknowledged by the devs. Fortunately, there is an easy fix. Here is what you need to do.
Unable to Save Personal Settings 1 Failed to Load in FIFA 22 Fix
FIFA 22 Career Mode has three ways to save the game – manual, auto, and the option to create a second save. The fix for the current error in Career Mode is to create a second save. You can make the second save file by going to the FIFA 22 Career Mode > hit X > choose ‘Create new Career’ (this will make a new save file) > input the name for the Career Mode and Save.
From here on, use the new save you created as the main Career Mode and you will not risk losing progress.
When you first encounter the FIFA 22 Personal Settings 1 Failed to Load, it can be daunting, but knowing the cause can help you avoid this error in the future. The error occurs when the FIFA servers go down suddenly while you are playing the game or there is an issue with your internet connection or you have disconnected the controller while the game is running.
If the new Career Mode/Save is not working, a console reboot may be in order. Restart the console and the game and the error should be gone.
