Fall Guys is a battle royale game minus all the shooting and weapons, instead, players have to complete with each other against ridiculous challenges. As the game launched free for players on PS4 with the PS Plus subscription, hundreds of thousands of players jumped into the game at launch day. Ever since the game has been criticized for server problems. However, the Fall Guys stuck on grey screen or black screen is not a fault at the server end and possible a problem with your system configuration. As such, there are a number of fix you can try to resolve the error. Stick around and we will show you all the possible solutions you can try.
Fix Fall Guys Stuck on Grey Screen or Black Screen
Often times, the black screen or grey screen in games arise when the system does not meet the minimum recommendations of the game, so before you even begin with the fix, ensure the system requirements are met.
Minimum System Requirements
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 64bit only
- Processor: Intel Core i5 or AMD equivalent
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7950
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 2 GB available space
- Additional Notes: Gamepad Recommended
Given the system requirements are minimal, it’s most likely your system meets the minimum specifications. As such, proceed to try the fix one at a time. Between each fix try to play the game.
Fix 1: Restart the Computer
The magic of the simple old restart is tried and tested, it works to resolve all types of errors with games and programs. Whenever there is an initialization problem or the correct settings of the graphics card does not load, it can lead to the grey or black screen. By reinitializing the device you can fix such errors. So, to fix the grey screen in Fall Guys, restart the system. If the error persists, move to the next fix.
Fix 2: Set the Time and Region Correctly
Often times, online games can cause problem when there is a conflict between the time and region of your system and what the IP address indicates. This can be if you have not set the time or region correctly or if you are using a VPN service. Therefore, disable any VPN service you might have enabled or ensure that the time and date are set correctly to your current region.
If that does not resolve the error, quite a few users on Steam Community have suggested that changing the time zone and region to Japan fixed their problem. So, that’s something you could try as well. It’s simple and takes a few minutes at max.
Press Windows Key + I and select Time & Language. You should see the menus for Data & time and Region. Go to each tab and try the above two suggestions i.e. first ensure your region is set correctly and launch the game. if the problem persists, go back and change it to Japan and check if the Fall Guys stuck on grey screen or black screen problem is fixed.
Fix 3: Run intl.cpl
This fix is suggested by the developers and is again another version of the above fix that looks to address the region problem with the system configuration. As the developers have suggested this, it’s worth a shot. Here are the steps.
- Press Windows Key + R and type intl.cpl, hit Enter
- Set the Format to English (United States)
- Save the changes and exit.
Try to run the game and check if the Fall Guys stuck on a grey screen or black screen problem is fixed.
