How to Fix Diablo 4 Beta Crashing issue
Firstly, it is essential to make sure that your PC meets the minimum requirements to run Diablo 4. Moreover, check out the other solutions also to avoid crashing issues in the game.
Check Minimum requirements
As per the official requirements provided by Blizzard, Diablo IV requires the following:
- Diablo IV requires a 64-bit Windows 10 operating system.
- An Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD FX-8100 processor is required to run Diablo IV.
- 8 GB of RAM is necessary to run Diablo IV.
- Diablo IV requires an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon R9 280 graphics card.
- DirectX version 12 is necessary to run Diablo IV.
- You will need 45 GB of available SSD storage space to run Diablo IV.
- Diablo IV requires a broadband internet connection to play.
Failure to meet these requirements may result in performance issues or crashes while playing the game.
Skip the Cutscenes
Diablo 4 crashes for several players while there is a cutscene. This should not happen but the devs themselves have acknowledged that the game is not optimized enough and can cause perforamnce issues. So, the best thing you can do if you crash during cutscenes is to skip it. On PC, you need to Press ‘Esc’ to skip the cutscenes.
Update Graphics Drivers
If your PC meets the minimum requirements, but you are still experiencing crashes, there may be some other issues at play. One of the most common causes of Diablo 4 beta crashing on startup is outdated or corrupted graphics card drivers. Ensure that your graphics card drivers are up-to-date and functioning correctly. To update your drivers, go to your graphics card manufacturer’s website, locate the drivers section, and download and install the latest drivers.
Close other Applications
Another common cause of crashes is conflicts with other programs or applications running on your computer. Ensure that you have closed any unnecessary programs before launching Diablo 4. Additionally, make sure that any antivirus software is not interfering with the game’s launch. If your antivirus software is causing the crash, add Diablo 4 to the exclusion list.
Verify the Integrity of game files
If none of the above solutions work, try verifying the integrity of the game files. To do this, open the Blizzard Launcher, select Diablo 4, click on Options, then click on Scan and Repair. The scan will check your game files for any errors or corruption and repair them automatically.
Perform a Clean installation of game
Finally, if all else fails, you may need to perform a clean install of Diablo 4. A clean install involves uninstalling the game, deleting any remaining files and folders related to Diablo 4, and then reinstalling the game from scratch. Before performing a clean install, make sure that you have backed up any important game data, such as save files.
Add the Following lines in the Folder
Another possible solution is to disable Chroma effects by adding the following line to your LocalPrefs.txt file located in your Diablo IV folder within your Documents folder: DisableChromaEffects “1”. This has been reported to have fixed the issue for some users.
Reset in-game settings
Another solution is to reset the in-game options. This can be done by opening the game launcher, clicking on the options menu, selecting “Reset In-Game Options,” and then clicking on the “Reset” button. This will reset all of your in-game options to their default settings.
Rest WMI
Additionally, resetting the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) repository may also help. To do this, open the command prompt as an administrator and type the following command: “winmgmt /resetrepository”. This will reset the WMI repository, which may help to resolve any issues with the game.
Install LatestVersion of Visual C++ Redistributable
Finally, it’s also a good idea to ensure that you have the latest version of Visual C++ Redistributable Packages installed on your system. You can download the latest version from the Microsoft website.
With these steps, you should be able to get Diablo 4 up and running smoothly in no time.
