The new season where all the three titles of the Call of Duty franchise – Modern Warfare, Warzone, and Black Ops Cold War – are coming together is out after some delay. But, it’s brought a new set of dev errors. Modern Warfare and Warzone players are all too familiar with dev errors and each pop due to their own unique reasons. Two new dev errors that’s plaguing the community is the dev error 6661 and 5476. While, there isn’t much common among the two dev errors, there are a few solutions that may be similar. Keep scrolling to know more about the Call of Duty: Warzone Dev Error 6661.
Fix Call of Duty: Warzone Dev Error 6661
The Call of Duty: Warzone Dev Error 6661 started occurring after the recent update to the game. The errors occur at random and there is no clear pattern or cause. However, some users have suggested that when you have set the Calling Card and the Emblem to Random the error can arise. As such, you must first set the Calling Card and Emblem to any other option other than Random.
Another possible cause of the error could be the latest NVidia driver update as suggested by users on various forums. If you have updated the GPU driver recently which is when the error started to occur, try rolling back the driver to the last.
You can also try to perform the scan and repair as a corrupt file of the game can also lead to the error. The dev error 6661 can also be a result of overclocking as the GPU becomes unstable. Ensure that you are running everything from CPU to GPU on the stock. Disable the OC software and check if that makes a difference.
If nothing has worked, reinstalling the game should work to resolve the dev error 6661. We know the download size is huge, so raise a ticket with Activation and wait for what they have to say before proceeding with the reinstall of the game. But, from experience we know Activation won’t be of much help and you will have to reinstall the game.
If you have a better solution, share them in the comments for other players. That’s all we know about the error so far. We will keep this post updates as we know more. The Warzone dev error 6661 seems to be a bug with the game like the companion error 5476. As the update’s just released and the developers are busy as hell, we can expect all these issues to be patched in the next update. Hopefully!
