With the new Warzone and Vanguard content just a day from launch, players of Vanguard on PS5 have run into an issue that’s preventing them from logging in and playing the game. The Call of Duty Vanguard Error Code DUHOK – LESTER. The error starts to occur after you have updated the game to the latest patch that includes the new content. The main error message with the reason DUHOK – LESTER is “Connection Failed: An update is required.” At the time of writing, the error is widespread on the PS5. Here is what you need to know and what you can do.
CoD Vanguard Reason: DUHOK – LESTER Fix
The error stats to occur after updating the game to Version 1.008. The good news is the devs are aware and have acknowledged the issue on a Tweet. The Tweet states, “We’re investigating an issue preventing PS5 owners from accessing #vanguard after preloading tonight’s update.”
If you have not updated the game to the latest patch, it’s best to avoid it until the devs resolve the issue. You can track and report the issue on the above Twitter thread. An immediate solution that users would resort to is deleting the new update in an attempt to download again, we advise against it. A lot of users tried it to no effect. The best fix may be to wait until the launch of the game when the error should resolve on its own.
If you are really eager to play the game, you could download the PS4 copy, which should work fine, but we have not tried it ourselves. A few users on Reddit have reported that the PS4 copy of Vanguard works without the error.
This is all you can do at the moment. However, unlike the server snapshot error, we at least have an acknowledgment from the devs and the error should not keep you from the game for long.
