Fix 1: Disable Windows Defender and Reinstall the Game
Uninstalling and reinstalling the game has resolved the error for quite a number of users. As a method of troubleshooting, you probably have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. However, some users were able to resolve the error after multiple attempts and uninstall and reinstall.
Even before I suggest this fix, I am well aware of the large file size and the pain it takes to download the game all over again. But given the large number of users who claim reinstalling the game fixes the problem I think it’s worth the try. You don’t want your money to go to waste because of a silly error.
However, before you reinstall the game disable the Virus & threat protection. After you have installed the game, try playing it and if the Call of Duty Modern Warfare Warzone Dev Error 1109 does not make an appearance, set an exclusion for the game folders in the Virus & threat protection.
Fix 2: Update the GPU
Both Nvidia and AMD regularly release updates for their graphics card that can have a potential hotfix for a range of Call of Duty errors. If you are still using the outdated or old driver, install the latest drivers either by directly downloading from the official website or the GeForce Experience for Nvidia users. Under most circumstance, the Warzone dev error 1109 will be fixed by updating the drivers. It’s recommended that you perform a manual install i.e. go to the manufacturer’s websites and download the latest copy and install. Once the install is complete, restart the PC to apply the changes and play the game.
Fix 3: Install Nvidia Studio Driver
If your gaming rig is running on an Nvidia GPU, simply installing the Nvidia Studio driver instead of the Game Ready driver can fix the problem. As we explored various forums to find a resolution to this problem, we came across a number of users who resolved this error by simply installing the other Nvidia driver.
Our guess is that the Studio drivers have some hotfix that addresses this issue. However, this is not yet a fully-tested driver, so you may encounter other errors with COD or other games. Regardless, if you want to give it a try, here is how you can do it.
If your system does not have the GeForce Experience, you need to download and install it first. Click on the link to download the latest version of GeForce Experience.
