Allow the game .exe file in your Antivirus and Windows security 

One of the first things you should do is to allow your game .exe file to your Antivirus program. In case, you are using Windows Security then go through these steps: 

1. Go to Start >> Click on Settings >> And then click on “Privacy” (if you have Windows 11) or click on “Update & Security” (if you have Windows 10) 

2. Then click on “Windows Security” >> Virus & threat protection >> Scroll down and click on Manage ransomware protection >> Allow an app through Controlled folder access. 

3. Click on “+ Add an allowed app” and select “Browse all apps”. Then, a new window will open.

4. Go to Local Disk C >> Program Files (x860 >> Origin Games >> Battlefield 2042 folder >> Select BF2042.exe and click on Open

5. Then again click on “+ Add an allowed app” and select “Browse all apps”. Then, a new window will open

6. This time, select BF2042Trial.exe and then click on Open

7. Lastly, again click on “+ Add an allowed app” and select “Browse all apps”. Then, a new window will open

8. And this time, select BF2042_launcher.exe and click on Open

Once all of these files have been added, try to launch the game and the issue should be fixed.

If that doesn’t work, then you can move on to the next solution.

Close Microsoft OneDrive

In some cases, Microsoft OneDrive can create issues and so you need to close it to fix Battlefield 2042 Settings Not Saving and Intro Starting Every time you Boot Game. Here are some simple steps to follow:

1. Click on the “Show hidden icons” in the right corner of your home screen and find out OneDrive.

2. Click on the OneDrive icon and go to Settings >> Account

4. In that folder, you will find PROFSAVE_tmp – Right-click on it and remove the “_tmp”

5. Press enter and click on “Save”

Create a New User Account as An Admin Without Any Special Character

In case your Windows user account name has any special character, then you might face such issues. So, to create a new account, follow these steps:

1. Go to Start >> Click on Settings >> Click on Accounts >> Family & other users

2. Click on “Add someone else to this PC”

3. Click on “Add a user without a Microsoft account” 

4. Follow some on-screen instructions and create a new account but make sure, DO NOT put any special characters in your new account.
