Battlefield 2042’s player count may be overshadowed by the recent numbers boosted by New World, but 127,114 concurrent players on day one when the game was released in such an odd hour is a good number. We tested the beta and besides some stuttering that can be fixed by tweaking the settings, the gameplay was smooth. But, not everyone is having the same experience, there is a range of issues with the game. One of them is the Battlefield 2042 cannot reset to default keybindings. If you have met this bug there is a simple workaround. Keep reading to fix the bug.
Fix Battlefield 2042 Unable to Reset to Default Keybindings Bug
There are some bugs with the keybinding that prevents you from using certain keys and the bug gets triggered if you change the default keybind. In such a case, you would want to restore the default keybind, but the current bug with the game will prevent that.
While PlayStation and Xbox users should not have any difficulty changing to keybind or switching to default, PC players are having a hard time with it as the game refuses to go to the default keybindings.
To fix the Battlefield 2042 unable to reset to default keybindings bug, you need to delete the settings folder of the game. But, before you do that close the game completely. Here are the steps you can follow.
- Close the game normally and completely
- Go to C:\Users\<user>\Documents\Battlefield 2042 Open Beta
- Delete the Settings folder
When you launch the game, it should automatically create a new settings folder, if not verify the integrity of game files.
EA is aware of the bug and has assured us that the current build has this issue fixed. You won’t see this bug in the main game when it releases, but for now, your only option to reset the keybindings is to delete the Settings folder.
