One such quest is the Explore the Ruins that comes in Chapter One. Players need to complete this quest to progress further in the main storyline. But many players are reporting that this particular quest is bugged and they cannot move further in the game. Well, if you are also experiencing this same situation, stick to this guide and learn what is the matter and how you can get rid of the Explore the Ruins bugs in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Fix Baldur’s Gate 3 Explore the Ruins Bug
It is crucial to note that the Explore the Ruins bug occurs in Baldur’s Gate 3 when you skip the side-quests and return to it after a while. Actually, the thing is, if you have not freed Shadowheart from the pod on the Mind Flayer ship, you will find her still trapped there. A convenient teleportation waypoint is located outside the ship’s front door, but unfortunately, the door itself is locked. To access it, you must navigate through the wreckage and reach the temple situated on the cliff.
Upon entering the temple, you will encounter a group of bandits protecting a Dank Crypt crypt. When you kill those bandits and move further into the crypt, you will encounter some skeletons. Following this battle, you will be able to unlock the sarcophagus and meet Withers. Withers then becomes a permanent addition to your camp, granting you the unique ability to freely change your character’s class whenever desired.
However, if you ignore the ruins for a while, Wither will be there at your camp automatically. This, however, can disrupt the overall progression of the quest. Fortunately, we have come across a solution to get rid of this problem.
If Withers has already arrived at your camp, ensure you’ve had at least one interaction with him. Afterward, proceed to the quest’s designated location and continue until you reach the Sarcophagus.
Upon reaching, you will notice that the Sarcophagus is empty. It is because Withers has relocated to your camp in order to advance further. To proceed, simply read the Plaque kept next to the Sarcophagus.
Once done this task successfully, go back to your camp and engage with Withers. You will discover a new conversation option during your interaction. Discuss this topic with Withers, and the quest will be ended automatically.
That doesn’t matter how you are going to complete the quest, you will surely get your XP or rewards.
That’s all you can try fixing Baldur’s Gate 3 Explore the Ruins bug.
