Baldur’s Gate 3 is out on Steam and Stadia on early access. One of the most awaited titles this month, it’s topping the Steam charts. Third-title in the popular RPG title it’s developed by Larian Studios. But, some players are experiencing the Baldur’s Gate 3 crash when accessing multiplayer. Players are reporting that the game crashes as soon as they click on multiplayer. Stick around and we will tell you everything you should know about the issue and what you can do about it.
Fix Baldur’s Gate 3 Crash When Accessing Multiplayer
Baldur’s Gate is an incredibly famous game, which brings a large number of players to the platform. Last night right after the launch of the game, Steam started to have issues due to the large number of players attempting to download the game, the same may be happening with Stadia.
At the moment, Baldur’s Gate 3 multiplayer crash seems to be a Stadia bug as players on Steam are able to play the game without any issue and jump into multiplayer. Here is what the Stadia Community Manager on Reddit had to say about the issue,
“Hi folks,
We’re aware of an issue that’s causing Baldur’s Gate 3 to crash when players attempt to access multiplayer. The Stadia team is working with our partners to identify a fix.
Thanks for your patience.”
The announcement confirms it that there is a glitch with the game’s multiplayer on Stadia. As it’s a bug with the platform or the game, there isn’t much you can do about the issue.
There are some recommendations from the developers that may be of help. The hotfix is to play the game on DirectX 11 rather than Vulkan. You can achieve this by clicking on the icon next to ‘play game’ on the launcher and choosing DX11 mode. Here are some other recommendations,
“Leaving the tutorial level by activating the transponder at the helm while the player character is downed in combat will crash the game.
In multiplayer, avoid saving the game during cinematics for the time being. Also, in multiplayer avoid listening in to a conversation in COOP that has ended.
If the host saves directly after combat in multiplayer, the game may crash. Save with caution in multiplayer.”
The good news from the entire issue is that there is no problem with your system or network connection that you need to mull over. Usually, problems of this type don’t take very long to resolve. Your best bet is to wait for a few days and meanwhile play other great titles released in the past few weeks, while the developers resolve the issue.
