Two of the recent titles from Ubisoft – Watch Dogs Legion and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla have been giving players a tough time with a bug that corrupts save files. Needless to say, the problem is serious and needs to be fixed as soon as possible. The developers are aware of the issue and we know that at least Valhalla will soon be receiving a patch specifically to address the problem. However, until the issue is resolved and a patch is issued, we have solutions for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla save corrupted with the “Data Corrupt” message next to the save files. Scroll down to read more about the issue and possible workaround.
Fix Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Save Corrupted | “Data Corrupt” Message
For some reason, Ubisoft is facing difficulty with the cloud save of the game. The players who save the files locally don’t have to worry about the issue, but those who rely on the cloud save might lose the save files due to corruption. When a player attempts to load a save file the message Data Corrupt appears.
Unlike some other problems with the game, there is no mystery about the issue. Your save files are corrupt and you cannot load them anymore until the developers fix the issue. Even when they have resolved the problem, whether you can get back the save or not is still in question. Fortunately, some workarounds can help you resolve the issue.
Several players on various forums have reported that restarting the game before loading the save resolves the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla corrupted save file. After you have restarted the game, select Continue on the main screen and the game should load your save files without any issue. But, not everyone has found respite in the solutions. Even so, you must give it a shot.
For future play, we suggest that you avoid the cloud save of the game until you have word from the developers that the issue has been resolved. Also, do not save the game over preexisting cloud saves or the previous files may be overwritten and you will lose them.
If the issue persists, the logical step is to get in touch with Ubisoft support. The developers suggest that you attach the corrupt save game when you contact them.
As mentioned earlier, Ubisoft has acknowledged the issue and has said there are working on a solution. So, it won’t be long before a hotfix is issued to resolve the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla “Data Corrupt” issue.
