Apex Legends Season 11 will roll out on 2nd Nov in the UK 6 pm (BST), 10 am PT, and 7 pm CEST. The update will overhaul a lot of things in the game and introduce a lot of new content from a new Legend – Ash with unique abilities, a lot of new weapons, and an interesting new map with greenery and aggressive wildlife. However, an issue that keeps repeating at each update is the Apex Legends download stuck. During the last update, the issue affected a lot of players, so we have created this early guide to help you.
How to Fix Apex Legends Season 11 Update Download Stuck
The Apex Legends Season 11 patch download stuck is not the first time the issue has surfaced. In fact, after the launch of every season, some users are unable to download the game. There are many reasons that can attribute to this.
Reboot the Steam Client
If you have not restarted the Steam client for a while, especially after the update was pushed, the Steam client may fail to find the update from the server. The simplest solution is to restart the Steam client and attempt to update the game.
Pause and Start
If you are able to download the update, but the download gets stuck at a certain percentage, often at 98%, it’s a bug that is affecting a lot of players. But, the fix is simpler than you would imagine. To fix the Apex Legends update download stuck, all you need to do is pause the ongoing download once it does not progress. Then, resume the download and the download should complete normally.
Launch Origin in R&D Mode
It’s been observed and reported by players that launching Origin client in R&D Mode helps speed up the download of the game. If you are stuck, and pausing and starting again does not help speed up the download, try to launch the Origin client in R&D Mode.

To open Origin in R&D Mode > Make a new notepad file on the desktop > paste the below code > save the file as EACore.ini > launch Origin. You will be prompted to use the new config file.
Do not do anything and in 10 seconds, the client will auto use the new settings file. The new file you created on the desktop will disappear. If the fix does not work or you want to exit the R&D mode, go to install location (default – C > Program Files (x86) > Origin) and delete EACore file.
That’s all we have in this guide. Hope your issue was fixed. Let us know in the comments if you have a better solution or share another problem with the new update.
