You can get the Golden Vow already equipped if you have defeated the Tree Sentinel found at Limgrave and acquired the Golden Halberd, which already has the Golden Vow skill equipped. If you wish to use the skill on a weapon of your choosing, you can do so by defeating the Mounted Knight, also found at Limgrave. To find the Mounted Knight, head towards the north-east section of the Limgrave region. You can reach the area by heading east from Warmaster’s Shack or west from Saintsbridge. You will come across an area between the two locations that have a gorge, towards the northern side. You will know it is the right one if you see an enemy encampment in the area. Look around till you find a knight on top of its steed, this is the Mounted Knight you will have to defeat to get the Golden Vow. You can also find the Knight at later stages of the game, somewhere towards the north side of Liurnia and also near the Tower of Return, but it is not known if it will drop the Golden Vow if you didn’t get it the first time.
Equipping the Golden Vow will increase your and your allies’ power and defense, as well as provide sacred affinity. This enhances Faith Scaling and provides Holy Damage, but at the cost of decreased physical damage.
