The previous Diablo games could be played offline, but often had restrictions and certain activities disabled for offline play. Nevertheless, if you were a solo adventurer, you would be able to experience the entirety of the game without an internet connection. The same cannot be said for Diablo Immortal, as there is no offline mode enabled for both PC and for mobile gaming. Perhaps the most straightforward reason for this is probably that Diablo Immortal is marketed as an MMO, so it requires players to interact and be online always. Also, the gameplay is such that it requires another player or more to beat the levels, especially if you plan on raiding dungeons and defeating higher level enemies. Co-op multiplayer is encouraged in the form of Warbands, which requires you to be online and connected always.
This may seem problematic to mobile players who don’t have a stable internet connection, but luckily, Diablo Immortal has a reconnect feature. You have 10 seconds to join back into your server, or you can leave your game entirely if you think your internet is not at its optimum. You will have to log out of the game, otherwise your character will still be active in the server even if you shut the game down.
