Generally, ‘Respec’ is a term mostly used in MMORPGs where players are allowed to rebuild their character’s ability set. If we understand it in a simple way, Respec offers you a chance to rethink or undo all of the decisions you have made regarding a character. If you are not happy with the skill points and stats of your character, with the help of Respec feature, you can reset them and start over. Diablo 2: Resurrected also offers this opportunity to their players to reset their skills but many of them have no idea how to do it so here is a quick guide on How to Respec in Diablo 2: Resurrected.

How to Respec in Diablo 2: Resurrected

Essentially, there are two different methods to respec in Diablo 2: Resurrected. The first opportunity presents quite early in the game, while the second can be a bit of a pain. Here is how to respec in the game.

1. Complete the Den of Evil quest and speak to Akara

The very first chance you will get is with the NPC called Akara. You will meet her in the main town at the beginning of the game. In Act 1, when you complete your first quest Den of Evil, speak to Akara and she will allow you to reset your skills/stats points. Remember, you can’t repeat this. It’s a one-time opportunity. You can do it only once per difficulty level.

2. Through crafting the Token of Absolution item

Crafting the Token of Absolution item is another method to Respec in Diablo 2: Resurrected. In this, you need to mix 4 different Essences:

– Festering Essence of Destruction

– Charged Essence of Hatred

– Burning Essence of Terror

– Twisted Essence of Suffering

All of these rare Essences you will get from enemies on higher difficulties. However, crafting Essences is an unpleasant task. So, think twice before you go with Respec in Diablo 2: Resurrected.

There is also another option that is quite weird and that is to start over the game with a new character. We know, it’s not an option most players would consider, but it’s a possibility. You can reset everything if you will start over with a new character. In case you are not satisfied even after the Akara’s reset, you can start over again from the beginning. This can also be the best option as you need to go far away in the game so better to start over as you are still very early in the game.
