We have already covered how to get the intrinsic perk and a new mod for the Vexcalibur, but what about the new catalyst? Here we will see how to get it in Destiny 2.

Getting the catalyst could take a bit longer than needed, as it requires you to redo the NODE.OVRD.AVALON quest in Legendary. You need to rerun the entire quest line, defeat the final boss, and acquire the chest that contains the catalyst. Each week, you can unlock new catalysts that you can pick up by completing the quest in legendary.

With that said, completing the quest in Legendary is no easy feat, as right off the bat you should be at level 1830 to successfully beat it. The best weapons would be anything that can add clear and void elements. Rocket Launchers and grenade launchers can help you out here. Also, keep an eye on your build. Threadrunner or Hunter Strand builds as well as Void Titans can keep the Vex at bay. For the final boss fight, utilize the Winterbite bug to eliminate its first health bar, then swap between launchers for crowd control and Winterbite for the boss. Any good assault rifle or SMG can be your backup but can make do with the above weapons instead. Once the final boss is down, you will unlock the catalyst.
