Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players are familiar with using binds for the game that help with the gameplay in certain ways. There is a long list of binds that players can add the script to, to make the game more enjoyable to them. In this guide we will see how to do a jump throw bind in CS:GO.
CSGO – How to do a Jump Throw Bind
CS:GO Binds helps in changing a small portion of the game script to be of advantage to the player. Binds are not illegal in the game, but you can still refer to the official rules, especially if playing in pro tournaments.
A jump throw bind helps players in CS:GO to throw a grenade at a long distance while jumping. Using this tactic, players can jump and toss a grenade up at places that would otherwise be inaccessible by just using a standard throw. You can use this bind on all grenades in the game.
Since the jump throw is bound to only one key, you do not have to simultaneously press several keys for the action to take place. Simply put, with just one key you can access the jump as well as the release button at the same time. This helps with the timing and precision of throwing a grenade, rather than jumping up without a bind and messing up the throw.
How to Set Up the Jump Throw Bind in CSGO
To make the Jump Throw Bind happen, you will need to set it up first. For that, you need to add custom commands to the config files of the game. To start, go to your local Program Files directory in your preferred drive (if Steam is stored in either C Drive or D Drive), go to Steam, find CS:GO and create a new text file in configurations. You will need the Autoexec config file in it. Or you can just paste the input on the search bar on your file explorer: Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\cfg. Name the text file Autoexec.cfg. Copy and paste the command below into the file.
- alias “+jumpthrow” “+jump;-attack;-attack2”
- alias “-jumpthrow” “-jump”
- bind “KEY” “+jumpthrow”
Change the “Key” to any key of your choice, then save it.
Now go to Steam, Right-click on the CS:GO icon, Click Properties, then Launch Options. Write down “+exec autoexec.cfg”. This will make the config file run in the game. This option will make the bind permanent. For a one time command, you just have to open the CS:GO developer console and input the following command:
- bind “X” “+jump; -attack; -jump”
Where X stands for the key of choice. This won’t mess up your in-game config files, but you will have to input this command every time you try to play the game.
To test out the bind, open your game and use the hotkey to see if it works. To change your range you can use the left, right, or both mouse buttons simultaneously to increase or decrease the range.
