Over time the keyboard of the laptop can become dirty and would require attention just like any other part of the computer. A clean keyboard does not just enhance the appearance of the device, but it can also have an impact on the performance. Dust on the keyboard will likely seep into other parts of the device. Here are some quick tips to clean your laptop keyboard.

Here is the complete step-by-step guide to thoroughly clean your laptop keyboard.

1. Turn off the computer and disconnect cables

First of all, turn off your laptop and disconnect all the cables including the power cable, HDMI, and others. If you’re using a wireless keyboard, make sure to remove the batteries first.

2. Flip it over and gently shake or tap it

Flip the keyboard over and gently shake or tap it to remove any small debris that may have gotten between the keys. We recommend using both of your hands. One hand to hold the screen that is unfolded, and the other hand to hold the keyboard part.

By small residues such as hair, dirt, crumbs, etc. of the user and from a pet, among other things. To help get rid of all that dirt, move your laptop in different directions. You can even tap gently to help yourself.

3. Clean the keys:

– Isopropyl alcohol

A good way to clean the keys is to use rubbing alcohol. You will easily find this product nearest in DIY stores or hypermarkets.

A good option is to use 70% isopropyl alcohol. In any case, it is always recommended that first, you test it on some point of the equipment that is not visible, that to make sure that it doesn’t cause any aesthetic alteration or damage.

– Use a microfiber cloth delicately

DO NOT use rubbing alcohol directly on the keyboard or any surface of the laptop, you always use it with a little soap or water? Also, you should always use a microfiber cloth. Wet the cloth with a few drops of alcohol. Or you can also use hot water with a little common soap. And make sure it doesn’t drip while cleaning.

– Use cotton swabs for the spaces between the keys:

Cotton swabs are ideal for the space between the laptop keys. You can also clean the sides of the keys as well as the surface of the keys. For effective cleaning, you can moisten them with rubbing alcohol. Make sure to keep a sufficient amount of cotton swaps to give it a thorough clean. With proper care, you can also use a toothpick.

And finally, dry the cleaning area by using another soft and clean cloth – And that’s it! You have cleaned your laptop keyboard thoroughly.
