Developed by Mundfish and published by Focus Entertainment and 4Divinity, Atomic Heart is an upcoming FPS action role-playing game planned for release on February 21, 2023, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. There are a wide range of opponents in the game, such as mechanical, biomechanical, biological, and aerial enemies, so the combat consists of shooting and slashing with homemade weapons. A crafting system allows weapons to be fashioned from metal components acquired from robots or domestic appliances.
Since its introduction in 2018, Atomic Heart has attracted players due to its unusual alt-Soviet Union scenario, BioShock-like ambience, gameplay combination of abilities and weapons, and extremely detailed graphics. In a statement by Mundfish creator and Game Director Robert Bagratuni, he said, “We wanted to make an exceptional game, a one-of-a-kind game.” Many mechanics, as well as the plot, apply to this. The unexpected delay is a result of youth, ambition, invention, and new technologies.

Despite the game’s release date of Feb 21, players can already pre-order it and receive exclusive weapon skins with the Labour & Science Weapon Skin Pack. There are three pre-order options:
- Standard Edition, which includes the base game.
- Gold Edition, which includes the Atomic Pass as well as the game.
- Premium Edition, which includes the Gold Edition content, an exclusive digital artbook and extra cosmetics.
The Atomic Pass includes four DLCs that expand the Atomic Heart experience, adding new areas, weapons, enemies, bosses, etc. By adding additional areas, missions, puzzles, enemies, characters, and world tales, the DLCs are designed to significantly enhance the player experience. As of right now, Atomic Heart is a single-player experience with a strong emphasis on story and player experience. It is not planned yet to add multiplayer features to the game.
The game has been on the shelves for years but is finally coming to a close. If you haven’t pre-ordered this game yet, you can do it now.
