Favors are some optional perks in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Forgotten Saga which are unlocked after your first death. You can buy these from Odin’s Camp by talking to Nar before attempting your next Niflheim run. While these aren’t absolutely necessary, they do make your runs easier throughout the game and they only last for your next run after you buy them. This article will delve deeper into the Favors system in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Forgotten Saga DLC Update.
What are Favors in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Forgotten Saga
It is commonly believed that the Favors mechanic only unlocks after your first boss fight when you kill the wolf or the boar but many players have confirmed that it activates after your first death in the new update. Upon your second run and the runs following that, you will meet Nar in Odin’s Camp who will sell you numerous favors. Some of these Favors will cost you your Memories (in-game currency) while others will cost you your Thoughts.
Favors are often costly and you can earn the currency to buy them by making several runs into Niflheim and completing your quests and puzzles. There are many types of Favors like the “Keepsake” one allows you to retain one of your weapons from the previous run- so if there’s a legendary weapon you don’t want to lose you can use this favor. Another favor gets you a 30% discount on all items sold by Merchants. The “Awesome Advantage” favor makes your next 3 rewards in the game into Legendary Runes so you can start off strong with powerful weapons.
Favors do not work for multiple runs and only work for your next one. As such you must buy the Favors you want before you begin your next run.
