Modern Warfare 2 is one of the most anticipated games of 2022. The series is coming up with a sequel to the critically acclaimed Modern Warfare reboot from 2019 this Fall. The upcoming game will follow the reunion of Task Force 141 as they battle enemies around the world. Overall, Modern Warfare 2 is one of the big-budget releases of this year.
The publishers are bringing back some characters from the original series to make the game feel more iconic.
1. Cpt. John Price
Captain John Price is the most iconic character in the Call of Duty series. He has been spotted in numerous CoD video games to date, beginning from Call of Duty 2 (2005). He was one of the pivotal characters in the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot. At the end of the game, he was seen reforming Task Force 141 with Laswell.
Thus, it is no surprise that Captain Price will be back in Modern Warfare 2 (2022) to lead the Task Force.
2. Sergeant Kyle “Gaz” Garrick
Sergeant Kyle “Gaz” Garrick was introduced in Modern Warfare 2019. Players immediately got fond of this character. Gaz will be back in the upcoming game as an indispensable part of Task Force 141. Gamers should, however, not confuse Sergeant Garrick with the original character “Gaz” who was seen in the first two titles of the original Call of Duty series.
3. Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley
Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley is one of the most iconic characters in the Call of Duty series. The character has been a staple in Call of Duty games for a long time. Ghost made his first AAA appearance in 2009’s Modern Warfare II. He was also seen in Modern Warfare 3 and Infinite Warfare. Ghost even has a video game featuring him as the main character which showcases his backstory.
Ghost will be back in 2022’s Modern Warfare 2 as a part of Task 141.
4. Sergeant John “Soap” MacTavish
Sergeant John “Soap” MacTavish is one of the most important characters seen in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series. He is featured in every game of the original series. However, Soap was not seen in the Modern Warfare reboot from 2019. In 2022, he is coming back to Modern Wafare as a part of Task Force 141.
