It’s easy to get comfortable when you’re at the top, whether you’re a professional gamer, the head of a dominant esports organization, or the man behind the world’s most played first-person shooter. When it comes to restoring Call of Duty‘s past greatness, 100 Thieves creator Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag thinks that failure is the only way to get the ball rolling again.
Nadeshot’s Interview with CouRageJD
Nadeshot, on the latest episode of his podcast with CouRageJD, discussed how he hoped a series of poor Call of Duty releases would force the developers to refocus their efforts and ultimately lead to a better final product. Despite how ridiculous it may sound, Nadeshot has always hoped that Call of Duty will fail for several consecutive years. They could make one of the best games ever if they just regrouped, refocused, and separated their goals.
Why did Nadeshot make the Statement on CoD
The ex-professional hopes that CoD will put more emphasis on competitive systems and ranked play in order to create a “first-class experience.” Players have the option to play without ratings, but he believes that increasing the emphasis on ranked play through the game’s menu and user interface will help the game reach even greater success. Particularly with this last release, Nadeshot has been very open about his support and reservations for Call of Duty. The 30-year-old went out on his webcast last month when his attempt to capture his first Nuke in Warzone 2 ended in a crash. He demanded that the devs make adjustments to the game. He backed the creators by saying the game was a terrific addition to the series, but he also highlighted the game’s many flaws.
Both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 had massive initial success, with the former becoming the quickest-sold title in the franchise’s history and the latter drawing 25 million players in a mere five days. However, according to Steam Charts, the game’s average player base has dropped by 42,000 individuals over the last 30 days as a result of the persistent complaints from the community.
That is all for this topic- Nadeshot clarifies what he meant when he said “a string of years where CoD just flops” could do wonders for the game series. For more content on Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, click on their links. Thank you for reading this article.
